Space Pie

As kids, all of us have pie-in-the-sky dreams, but recently one group of plucky schoolchildren in Derbyshire County, England decided to make those dreams a reality.  Setting new standards in British aerospace engineering, students from St Anselm's Preparatory School launched a tin of Bakewell pudding into the stratosphere by means of a high-altitude balloon. Sophisticated electronics were attached to the pie in order to track its path into the edges of outer space.  Unfortunately, before the precocious pupils could break new ground in the scientific field of atmospheric pastry preservation, they lost the signal from their pudding pie.  The school did not release an official statement about the premature termination of this science project, but there can be only rational explanation -- aliens

One thing is for certain: now that these pie-eating space men have made their presence known, there will be no stopping them; their cravings for confections will inevitably force them to conquer Earth. So I for one would like to welcome our new sweet-toothed overlords.
